My name is Hannah Morrison and I'm from the Scottish Highlands. I graduated from Gray's School of Art in 2015 with a BA (Hons) in 3D Design, specialising in Ceramics & Glass. I then spent a year as Graduate in Residence at Gray's before returning to the Highlands in late 2016 to set up my own studio/workshop.
My creative process is informed primarily by the Scottish landscape, that of the Outer Hebrides in particular. I like to explore themes surrounding memory, sentimentality and the narrative of inanimate objects. The technical processes I use to make my work also have a big influence on the pieces I create. I attend lots of craft events all over the Highlands throughout the year to sell my work and I also have a small array of stockists dotted about the North of Scotland too. (See ‘Where to buy’ tab above for more info!) I welcome collaborations with other artists & designers as well as commissions from individuals or organisations. I’m forever trying to make my business more sustainable and already work with a few businesses making ceramic solutions to reduce plastic use so if you have any ideas on how I can help you or your business in this way then please just let me know!
