My name is Hannah Morrison and I'm from the Scottish Highlands. I graduated from Gray's School of Art in 2015 with a BA (Hons) in 3D Design, specialising in Ceramics & Glass. I then spent a year as Graduate in Residence at Gray's before returning to the Highlands in late 2016 to set up my own studio/workshop.
My creative process is informed primarily by the Scottish landscape, that of the Outer Hebrides in particular. I like to explore themes surrounding memory, sentimentality and the narrative of inanimate objects. The technical processes I use to make my work also have a big influence on the pieces I create. I teach one-to-one wheel-throwing as well as other techniques from my studio. I attend lots of craft events throughout the year to sell my work and I also have a small array of stockists dotted about the Highlands. I welcome collaborations with other artists & designers as well as commissions from individuals or organisations. |
