Strata Tea Set 2016

This design has been inspired by the cracks, fractures and rifts of the beautiful  Lewisian Gneiss, some of the oldest rock in the world found in the Outer Hebrides.
The lines are also reminiscent of the mountainous landscape of Southern Harris.

 Money Pots

Picture
This traditional type of money pot dates back 2000 years where they were made and used in Italy. Usually hand thrown in terracotta clay, these are my contemporary take on a traditional design.
Once the first coin is dropped into the pot it must be fed until full when it should be broken open whilst making a wish. It is said that what you spend the money on will bring good fortune.
Once broken and emptied, it is customary to replace the pot and give it a new use, such as to hold a plant/candle or whatever you fancy! So break carefully! (And please always wear safety goggles, especially as my designs contain glass)

These money pots make fantastic gifts for someone special and of course, each one is completely unique, making it that extra bit more special!
